My name is Marion Bracke and I grew up near the Belgian border in Zealand. When I was eighteen I wanted to expand my world so I moved to Nijmegen to study Social Sciences, specialising on children with behavioral problems. Because I was curious about the rest of the world I interrupted this study one year to travel. During this trip I traveled and worked in Australia and went to Asia. That immediately felt very familiar and was the cause of my wish to do voluntary work in Asia.
After my return I finished my studies and I worked for several years as a juvenile probation officer. From 2004-2008 I lived and worked in Laos, Asia. During this time I became familiar with Buddhism. During a meditation retreat in Thailand in 2007 I was introduced to yoga and was hooked. Yoga was a welcome addition to the meditation and I immediately felt its effects in my body and mind.
Since I live in the Netherlands again, I work at the RIBW and I started taking classes with Ron van der Post. In 2009 I started the three-year dynamic Hatha yoga teacher training at his yoga school in Nijmegen. Now I’m a yoga teacher but still learning and I always will. The yoga path has inspired me a lot and I’ll keep on following this path.
At Nadi Yoga I teach dynamic hatha yoga and flow yoga classes in which I focus on building strength, flexibility and relaxation. Next to this I teach yoga to people with mental problems individually at Anders RIBW on a weekly basis.
I attend yoga weekends on a regular basis and I follow workshops and retreats. This year I study yoga philosophy at yogaschool Ron van der Post and I follow the 4 level training of Critical Alignment with Gert van Leeuwen. For me it is a privilege to share yoga with others and I hope this will be visible in the classes I teach.
