Nadi Yoga Nijmegen focusses on an optimal energy flow through the body by practicing asanas (poses), pranayam (breathing techniques) and relaxation or meditation.
Yoga is a path you can take and is there for everybody: young or old, beginner or advanced etc. It’s an individual process and there is a challenge for everyone. In yoga it’s not about the results, but it’s about the proces of fully being present in the moment so the mind becomes more quite.
Asanas take care of this because of the slow movement which enhances the bodily awareness. Asanas are being held longer for it’s purifying effect in that specific area. By regular practicing yoga, blockages in the energy system or nadis are being released.
Breathing techniques during or after asanas can help to turn inwards. This way you can learn to relax during the effort. It’s ok to sweat during a yoga class, or search for and play with your borders, as long as you do this with respect for yourself. You know yourself the best, I will challenge you but always with respect for your own borders. The experience teaches us that after working with asanas, the body can more easily release itself in relaxation or meditation, which is the eventual goal.
